Foxconn Shenzhen to move northward by October
iPhone manufacturer Foxconn, a subsidiary of Hon Hai Group, now is accelerating its steps to move northward for speeding up the layout of its production base in China. About 300,000 employees are required to make their move to the north by 1st October this year, according to the report of a Taiwan media.
Reportedly, Foxconn’s Shenzhen plant now has totaling 400,000 workers, of which, three fourths will be moved to the north and the remaining will be left at Shenzhen for the production line of Apple’s products.
In addition, Hon Hai will dissolve its mobile phone assembling plant in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, which has initiated the imagination of the outside. Foxconn made explanation that this did not mean that Hong Hai would withdraw from Shanxi, but to leave the plant to its subsidiary Foxconn for the use of comprehensive planning.
According to the report of Hong Kong media, the assemble line for Apple with higher technical level will still be remained in Shenzhen and others will be moved to the inland, of which, PCB plant will be transferred to Qinhuangdao, photoelectricity to Jincheng , video games to Yantai, mobile phones to Langfang and notebook to Chongqing.
