Shenzhen to Have an Offshore Grand Theatre
In the Twelfth Five-Year Plan of Yantian District that is being prepared, the building of national music creation industrial base, offshore grand theatre and other key culture facilities and industrial projects are expected to be included, which will become a strategic engine to establish a cultural Yantian district, Shenzhen.
Great importance has always been attached by Yantian District to the development of cultural industry according to its own characteristics with the result that the tourism and cultural industry of the outer rings has been developed fast and the proportion of cultural industry to GDP has been increased day by day.
As required by the industrial program of driving the fast development of district culture industry by key culture projects, the OCT East, Meisha Original Music Base, the first music creation industrial base in China, Shenzhen Marine Club and other hi-end cultural industries have been collectively constructed, forming a cluster development trend.
Relevant data shows, the value-added of the cultural industry of Yantian District in 2004 was only 377 million Yuan, accounting for 3.2% of the GDP, while that in 2008 was 3.557 billion Yuan, 15.3% of the GDP.
Yantian District this year has obviously strengthened its efforts of investment on cultural construction projects. It’s said that building of national music creation industrial base, offshore grand theatre and other key culture facilities and industrial projects are expected to be included in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan of Yantian District that is being prepared, making the cultural industry a highlight of the development of this district.
