TCL to Obtain Double Support from Samsung

TCL’s development of 8.5 Generation Liquid Crystal Display panel will obtain both technological and financial support from Samsung following the financial support of the governments of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City as well as its largest share owner Huizhou Holding Limited.

President of Samsung in China, Keun-Hee Park said on the meeting with Secretary of Shenzhen Party Committee and Mayor of Shenzhen recently that Samsung Group has decide to take an active part in the 8.5Generation LCD panel project in Shenzhen and will provide necessary technological and financial support.

Samsung Electronic is the earliest company in the world to build 8.5 Generation LCD panel production line, whose first 8.5G production line constructed jointly with Sony Corporation has been put into operation as early as August in 2007. Samsung, who now has three 8.5G LCD panel production lines, is one of the largest manufacturers of LCD panel and the also one of the largest purchasers of panels in the world.

TCL Group early made announcement that it has obtained financial subsidy from the governments of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City of totaling 1.55 billion Yuan.
