Five Metro Lines to be Completed Next Year

The achievements of Shenzhen Communication supporting the economic development are obvious to people and the strategy put forward by Shenzhen to build a public traffic city conform to the development requirements of people’s livelihood.

After taking part in the ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, Li Shenglin, Minister of the Ministry of Communication, inspect some major traffic construction projects like Futian traffic hinge, Dachanwan Port, Shekou SCT Dock, Qianhai Logistic Garden, Yantian Port, etc. on September 6. He commend favorably on the strategy of Shenzhen public traffic city.

The railway traffic network has been gradually formed in Shenzhen. According to the introduction, five metro lines, with total length of 178 kilometers and 131 stations, will be completed in 2011, preliminarily forming a railway network covering the main development axle of the city. It’s anticipated that the average daily passenger flow will be 2.5 million person time.

At present, Shenzhen has started 671 public traffic lines with 12,200 operating vehicles and daily passenger flow of 6.5 million person time, including taxies and metros.
