Li Ka Shing Believes in Shenzhen’s Future
Li Ka-shing, Chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited, made an address on the ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. He said in a speech the Shenzhen SEZ was the “driving force” of China’s reform and opening-up and he felt exciting about the achievements of reform and open-up of Shenzhen in the past 30 years.
Li Ka-shing, the richest man in Hong Kong, said, the world economy has suffered much fluctuation and so did that of Shenzhen. Therefore, the development of Shenzhen indicates the central China’s resolution of reforming has never changed.
He pointed out that Shenzhen is the driving force of the reform and opening of the mainland. Hong Kong and Shenzhen, which are joined by the common mountains and rivers, have form close partnership. Shenzhen’s international marketing environment has been improved and the days of ranking as one of the world top city are numbered.
