Shenzhen Airport Contributed 30b to Economy

In 2010, the passenger volume, goods volume and flight number at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport had reached 26,713,000 person-trips, 800,000 tons and 217,000 respectively with increase rate over the same period of last year of 9.1%, 33.6% and 7%, Shenzhen traffic and transportation committee told the paper. Shenzhen has ranked the fourth in the mainland for consecutive nine years. 30 billion yuan has been contributed to Shenzhen economy in 2010.

Civil aviation has showed obvious effects for driving the development of local economy and the internationally recognized input and output ratio of civil aviation is 1:8. As one of the most developed cities on economy and air transportation industry in China, Shenzhen’s air transportation industry has played an outstanding role in promoting the economic development.

It’s anticipated that every million passenger volume in Shenzhen airport will make 1.18 billion yuan contribution to the economy. As of the end of 2010 Shenzhen air transportation industry has made over 30 billion yuan contribution to the economy in China. According to the statistics of China Civil Aviation Administration, civil aviation has pulled the increase of Shenzhen GDP by 4.5%, 0.5% higher than the national average level.

Relevant person from Shenzhen airport said, after the completion and operation of the second runway of Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport in June this year, Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport’s flight capability will be improved on an all round base.
