Joint Venture between BYD and Daimler Approved

BYD early announced the Joint Venture named Shenzhen BYD Dailmer New Technology Co., Ltd between BYD and Daimler has been approved by the government and has obtained the business license granted by Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision and Management Bureau.

This was released by President and Chairman of BYD on the vehicle exhibition in Genevese. It’s said that this Joint Venture will research and develop electric vehicle in China and will promote the first new energy automobile based on the two parties’ technology in 2013.

Wang said, “Our Joint Venture has made great process. In Shenzhen Research and Development Center, the engineers, designers and other experts both from China and Germany are cooperating closely and there will be more persons from both the parties to participate in the team.”

Wang also said, BYD will promote its E6 electromobile and S6DM dual mode electromible in European market by 2012. The new generation electromobile newly developed by Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology Co., LTD will integrate the advanced technologies of Mercedes Benz at car system design and safety as well as the battery technologies and driving system of BYD. The newly developed electromobile will be named with a new brand instead of using the name of BYD or Daimler.
