Huawei’s Average Salary Reached 280 Thousand
Huawei employees’ high income had been well known in the IT industry. Huawei released last weekend, “in the first half year, a salary increase of 11.4% had been made for more than 40 thousand employees of low and middle level, which accounted for 36% of the total employees. In the second half year, Huawei will continue to make adjustment to the salaries of the middle and high level employees, which is expected to be 5% to 10%.”
The Annual Report showed, Huawei’s sale revenue in 2010 was 185.2 billion Yuan, up by 24% over the same period of last year, of which the salary expense for employees was 30.6 billion Yuan, up by 23%. Calculated with 111 thousand employees, the average annual salaries of Huawei’s employees were nearly 280 thousand. In addition, Huawei had provided 1.97 billion yuan guarantee expenditure for it employees, including insurance, medical support and so on.
There was media report saying that, a email sent by a president of Huawei showed, due to the revenue decline of the R&D and solution operator business in the first quarter this year, the employees may face salary decrease. Chen Zhaohui, Director of Huawei CSR Commission said this email was only an incitement method for the employees of some department of the company, which was misunderstood by the outside. The announcement of salary increase this time was the best clarification.
