Shenzhen Metro Shekou Line Ready for Trial Run

The east extension line of Shenzhen Metro Shekou Line (Metro Line 2) will be open for trial run at 2:00 pm on June 28. Starting from Chiwan, Nanshan in the West and ending in Xinxiu, Luohu in the East, Shenzhen Metro Shekou Line has a total length of 35.748 kilometers and has 29 underground stations.

The initial project of the line was from Chiwan Station to Window of the World Station, which had been completed and put into trial operation in 2010. The east extension line with a total length of 20.622 kilometers is designed to have 17 stations, which are Window of the World, Qiaocheng North, Shenkang, Antuo Hill, Qiaoxiang, Xiangmi, Xiangmei North, Jingtian, Lianhua West, Futian, Civic Center, Gangxia North, Huaqiang North, Yannan, Grand Theatre, Hubei, Huangbeiling, and Xinxiu.

After opened, the overall line of Shekou Line will work as a supplement to Luobao Line at the aspect of west-east transportation, effectively relieving the pressure on west-east corridor traffic in Shenzhen. With total operation time of 16.5 hours per day, Shekou Extension Line, after opened, will start from 6:30am and end at 23:00 pm with operation interval of ten minutes. It will take 68 minutes from Chiwan to Xinxiu Station. Shekou Line is designed to transfer with Luobao Line at Window of the World and the Grand Theatre Station, to transfer with Longgang Line at Futian Station, to transfer with Longhua Line at the Civic Center and to transfer with Huanzhong Line at Huangbeiling Station respectively, which will greatly facilitate citizens’ traveling requirements.
