118 “U” stations launched in Shenzhen

As the place where the 26th World Universiade’s opening and closing ceremony would be held, Nanshan district volunteer service station recently sounded the bulge and announced the 118 service stations were fully put into use.

The volunteer service station has a nice name, U station. “U” is derived from the Universiade’s emblem “Happy U” and it also represent the “U” of the “Universiade”, “You” and “Unit”, which express the meaning of the Universiade, service, and bridge.

With the longest serving period and the widest serving range for the Universiade, the urban U station is not only the platform for serving the Universiade and passing Shenzhen’s civilization, but also the window for the worldwide people to view Shenzhen and Nanshan district. In the U station, volunteers will provide conventional services for the citizens, including ambient information consultation, emergency medical aid, and propagandizing of Universiade culture.

After launched, every U station will be assigned a featured service item. For example, Shenzhen Bay U station will conduct the activity of “teaching English” and the featured activity of “doing one’s utmost to be a civilized citizen for welcoming the Universiade”. Those activities will certainly make the citizens experience the differences of each U station.
