Shenzhen Airport cargo and mail throughput ranks national No. 4

The 8th China Air Cargo Submit 2011 was held by the Transport Committee of Shenzhen Municipality on 12th-14th of October 2011, in association with the 2011 China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Transportation Fair.

The China Air Cargo Submit is hosted by the Transport Committee one time per year, on which the municipal government will invite the experts of the Ministry of Transport of China, Civil Aviation Administration of China, International Civil Aviation Transportation Organization, global air companies, airports and aviation affair consultation companies to gather in Shenzhen for mutual exchange of experience and discussion of the development of aviation logistics. The theme of this year is to discuss “the emerging growth point of China’s aviation cargo transportation in the post financial crisis period”, which indicate Shenzhen’s municipal government has paid close attention on the development of aviation logistics.

Shenzhen’s aviation logistics has developed quickly, thanks largely to the government’s high attention and proper measures. According to 2010 National Airport Production Statistical Bulletin, Shenzhen Airport’s cargo and mail throughput in 2010 was about 810,000 tons, up by 33.6% over the last year’s 610,000 tons. Among the 175 civil airports in China (excluding Hong Kong and Maocao), Shenzhen Airport ranks No.4, just behind Shanghai Pudong Airport, Beijing Capital Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun Airport.
