Rumor: Huawei’s senior vice president to resign

Shenzhen, China- An unnamed source disclosed that, due to the recent lofty tone exposal to media and the involvement in the wars of words with 360 Corporation and Xiaomi Company, Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Senior Vice President and Board Chairman of Huawei Terminal may resign within the year.

A senior insider who refused to tell his name said, as a global leading provider of telecommunication equipments, Huawei has been operated as a low profile and has focused on technology development. However, Yu Chengdong, responsible for Huawei’s terminal business made himself exposed to the public frequently in 2012, which has caused dissatisfaction of many employees of Huawei. The insider disclosed Yu’s hyping behaviors have been resisted inside Huawei. Yu has openly participated in the wars of words with 360 Corporation and Xiaomi Company since May, which makes him a focus of the public opinion on the internet.

Huawei is a global leading provider of telecommunication equipment and technologies. According to relevant data, Huawei’s turnover in 2011 reached 200 billion Yuan, about ten times of that of Tecent, the largest internet company in China.
