Shenzhen raises monthly jobless insurance to 1056 yuan
Shenzhen, China – Shenzhen has adjusted the monthly unemployment insurance payment to 1056 yuan since July 1, 2012 until June 30, 2013, according Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau yesterday.
During the implementation of this rule, other Regulations of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone on Unemployment Insurance, if newly enacted in Shenzhen, will be implemented as requested.
The Regulations of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone on Unemployment Insurance stipulates that Shenzhen’s monthly payment of unemployment insurance is 80% of the previous year’s minimum wage standard announced by the government. Shenzhen’s minimum wage for full-time employed labors last year was 1320 yuan. So from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, Shenzhen’s unemployment insurance payment is adjusted to 1056 yuan.
It’s said Shenzhen has totally 65306 persons who are eligible for the insurance, and the total amount is 59,700,000 yuan. According to the Regulations, the laid-off workers can go to the unemployment insurance agency and draw the unemployment benefits month by month thirty days after personal registration with the agency. During the drawing of the benefits, the laid-off workers shall join in the medical insurance as requested by the city’s medical insurance system. The insurance premium will be paid by the unemployment insurance fund.
Additionally, the Standing Committee of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress passed the Several Regulations on Unemployment Insurance of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone on June 29 and will enact it on January 1, 2013. The Regulations changed the condition that only people with Shenzhen permanent residence permits can join in the unemployment insurance and cover the people without the permit in the insurance range.
