40% sterilized tableware unqualified in Shenzhen
Shenzhen, China- The city’s hygienic supervisory authority recently made a sampling inspection over the sterilized tableware produced by ten tableware sterilization corporations with business licenses in Shenzhen. During the inspection, four corporations out of the ten, 40 percent, were found unqualified while their products were contaminated with coliform group, according to Shenzhen Health, Population and Family Planning Commission.
In coordination with the work deployment of the action “three strikes and two constructions”, the Commission has conducted spot check over ten tableware sterilization corporations in Longgang district, Bao’an district and Nanshan district for strictly striking the illegal actions of producing unqualified sterilized tableware. In this spot check, totally 140 tableware samples were inspected, of which 123 were proved qualified, with a rate of 87.9%.
The supervision and inspection for sterilized tableware mainly focus on sense perception, coliform group, four pathogenic bacteria (Salmonella, Shigella, Staphylococcus Aureus and Hemolytic Streptococcus) and alkyl benzene sodium sulfonate, according to the city’s health supervision bureau.
According to the introduction of experts, the coliform group mostly exists in warm blood animal dejections, the places where human being often go to and the areas that are contaminated by excrements. The water and food that are detected with coliform group can be deemed to have been contaminated by excrements.
