Huawei to set up factory in India for oversea arrangement of smart phones
Shenzhen, China- Huawei, which focuses on development of smart mobile phone terminals, now has accelerated its step for oversea market arrangement.
It’s reported that Huawei now is planning to make its network equipment manufacturer in Chennai, India produce smart mobile phones, for the purpose of meeting the market demand in India. “Huawei has doubled the number of its smart phone distributing cities from 15 to over 30 and it plans to make great expansion in the future three years by setting up 20,000 sale agencies in over 200 cities,” said Victor Shanxin, Huawei Terminal President in India. “If the quality of the whole supply chain can be guaranteed, the Company will continue to promote the deployment of production facilities.”
The Chetan Sharma Consulting’ data shows that India’s mobile phone users have reached the 1 billion mark, which, together with the users in China, accounted for over 25% of the global mobile phone users.
Statistical data shows Huawei Terminal sold over 100,000 smart mobile phones in India during the period from 2011 to 2012, and it plans to sell 500,000 smart phones and 3 million function mobile phones from 2012 to 2013.
India has become one of the eight largest sale areas of Huawei. An insider with Huawei said that Huawei now has direct employees of 6000 in India, of which 90% are from local areas, who provide services for local enterprises, international operators, local public and private telecommunication corporations. “Among over 140 countries and regions where Huawei has developed its business, India is one of the most important strategic markets.”
