Shenzhen Airport Passengers up 4.3% in July
Shenzhen, China- Shenzhen Airport announced its production and operation bulletin in July on the night of August 8, 2012. The data shows the airport has received 2,556,600 passengers in July, up by 4.3% over the same period of last year. From January to July, totally 17,065,300 passengers have been received, up by 4.6%.
In addition, the freight throughput in July is 70,500 tons, down by 0.5% over the same period of the previous year, while the accumulated volume from January to July is 469,100 tons, up by 0.1%.
Shenzhen Airport is accelerating the construction of terminal building 3 that is expected to put into service by the end of 2013. Although the second runway has been put into production in the second half of last 2011, it had not reached its production capacity due to unreasonable arrangement of the position between the terminal building A and B and the two runways. After the terminal building 3 is put into service, the two runways will stand on each side of it and then the coordination effect of the two runways and large capacity terminal building will be released to drive the increase of incomes.
However, after T3 is put into service, the airport will face the cost pressure brought by the depreciation and financial expense, as well as the increase of operation cost.
