Driving training in Shenzhen costs more

According to relevant report, the new rules for driving tests in Shenzhen that is expected to be implemented next year that could raise the costs of local training courses for new drivers.

The new rules will add more subjects to driving tests for people who seek to obtain licenses for their vehicles. Though the subjects for small-vehicle licenses will drop to five from ten, those tests will be more difficult, according to an experience driving coach.

The new rules will also add a new test subject for all vehicle licenses, which could extend the entire license-application period from six months to eight. The new test participators who try to obtain licenses in Shenzhen must take a training course followed by a written test and then a road test. The process can take six months, at present, because of intervals needed for registration, test results and so on. A driving coach said the longer training courses would require driving schools to spend more money on fuel and teachers’ salary, and the schools would likely pass those costs on to students.

Tougher rules for the driving test could raise the cost by several hundred yuan, said the coach. Many people who are seeking to obtain driving licenses are now rushing to training school, in case of any possible price hike in the future.
