Two illegal human egg trading dens clamped down in Shenzhen

The underground human egg trading case in Longhua New District, Shenzhen has been the focus of the public recently. Shenzhen health and supervision bureau held a news conference yesterday, on which, the spokesman of the bureau said the health department have conducted integrated law enforcement with several departments for the illegal medical practice that allegedly collected eggs from young women and sold them for profits.

The health department is making further investigation over the case and relevant suspects have been transferred to public security organ. The clinic involved in the case is located in an abandoned activity center for former senior officials in Longhua New Area. The alleged illegal surgery room for collecting women’s eggs is hidden underground. There are many kinds of equipments and facilities necessary for assisted reproduction and several women were receiving injections when a law enforcement team arrived. People involved in the clinic’s operation are in custody at the Minzhi Police Station.

The agency that assisted the illegal clinic to find donors and customers was also shut down. A large number of files and agreements were found in the agency in Longgang District, and the agency also had information about several other similar illegal clinics in Shenzhen and neighboring cities such as Dongguan. Shenzhen health supervision bureau also released relevant investigation video.
