Analytic personage thinks that the recent rise of vegetable price is in line with the development trend in previous years and the high price of vegetables is expected to return to rational range after National Day.
It is identified that the rainstorm brought by typhoon has a big impact on the local vegetables. The reduction of production and places of origin leads to a direct result of a surge in local vegetables price. Many wholesalers purchase vegetables from other provinces in order to save money and ensure supply. More than 90% of Shenzhen’s vegetables maily come from Yunnan, Shandong, Hainan and other provinces. The landfall of typhoon results in yield reduction of local vegetables in Huizhou, Dongguan and so on, so we increase demand from other provinces correspondingly and price also rises.
Over the past two months, Shenzhen and the surrounding area has been affected by the invasion of rainwater so that many local vegetables diped in the field and went rotten without timely harvest. As a resulf, Supply can not maintain the stability which leads to high price of vegetables.
