Shenzhen Customs Arrest 3 Smuggling Groups and Captured Luxury Goods Worth Almost 200 Million Yuan
Recently Shenzhen customs launched anti-smuggling action and has busted 3 smuggling groups of luxury goods who allegedly smuggled goods from Hongkong. Shenzhen customs arrested 38 people and captured luxury goods worth almost 200 million yuan.
on the morning of September 5, Shenzhen customs cooperated with polices from Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenyang and arrested 38 suspects, including three Hongkong residents. Two main persons of these smugglers have been under criminal detention. Moreover, Shenzhen customs seized dozens of private goods warehouse and shops sold smuggled goods.
It is known that the number of seized clothes made by luxury brands like PRADA, GUCCI, CHANEL, ARMANI, BURBERRY, HERMES are over 1,200 pieces. 50 bags and nearly 300 pieces of shoes and hats were also found. The number of watches, belts and other accessories are nearly 100 pieces. All existing evidence has shown that these seized goods are worth nearly 200 million yuan.
Shenzhen customs attributed all these smuggling activities of luxury goods to a heavy domestic demand and high prices on the mainland.
