Shenzhen will Boost the Development of Shenzhen Port and Shenzhen Shipping Industry
In 2012, cargo throughput of Shenzhen port totaled 2.28 tons and container throughput amounted 22,941,300 TEUs, which ranked second in China for sixteen consecutive years and ranked fourth in the world container port for ten consecutive years. Compared with the advantages of Shenzhen port, it seems difficult to find out any large enterprises in Shenzhen shipping industry. It has made the impression of “powerful port with weak shipping industry” on the outside world for a long time. But that isn’t exactly true.
Good talent environment, market resources and port resources provide Shenzhen shipping industry with natural good development conditions. Reporters learned that Shenzhen shipping industry is also developing well and has mushroomed over these year.
According to introduction, Shenzhen has bred more than 50 shipping enterprises with over 300 ships. And the total capacity amounted more than 4,000,000 tons, the average capacity of single ship has ranked first in China, as a result, Shenzhen shipping industry conforms to the development trend of large-scale ships. In addition, Shenzhen also has formed integrated transport fleets of various ranges like dry bulk, container, dangerous chemicals, oil and gas, passenger transport, roll-on and roll-off. Among them, the scale of roll-on and roll-off transportation fleet ranks the top in all medium-size and large cities throughout our country and the scale of energy (coal, oil, LNG) transportation fleet ranks first in Guangdong Province.
